Hey, is he still alive?

Tue Jul 24, 2007, 7:03 AM
Yeah, he is!
Well, I neeeeed to scan a butt load of Arts, post alot of my photos graphs, and get my Dark Magic comic up here, huh?

Well, I'm a Senior (been one for a few months) at Texas A&M, and I'm working at a Research lab, catching, tagging, scale clipping, and milking snakes (obviously only the poisonous get milked). It's alot of fun, but it comes with its share of grueling and loooong paper work, which keep me for long hours. I'm sorry for the long absence, however, my grades are coming up, so it's not a loss for me, I appologize to all of you though. I'll try to get some art and stuff up for you all soon!

Boy your awesome! Working with animals is always a joy and p0lus here in GA a 'm learning that a lot of people here either eat snakes or kill them....-.-;;
I try educating and entertaining them but I guess its their "computerized in stupidity"
(I can barely bring my "Kusu" (my reverse okeete corn snake) to "Petsmart!"
People freaked out and I was told that this one guy in the store said a nasty smart remark about my baby! >O(I'm glad I didn't hear it from here or I would have been depressed X|)
Milking snakes is a technique of hands and the process itself, of course is to save human life.
Very rewarding experience!

Thanks. Well, besides the lab animals, I am currently snake-less at the moment. The wild caught ones we release so we can track them and collect habitat data. But I'm not lonely, got a Red ear slider, an ornate box turtle and a juvenile savannah monitor to keep me company. Drives the roommates crazy when they see my room with hollowed turtle shells, random deer bones and my herps walking around.
Glad you enjoy the company of your corn snake. I bring my monitor to pet stores, and she lots gazing at the mice. Yeah, people stare and talk cause reptiles aren't furry, but just hold your head high. I do some educating out at Lick Creek State Park, but I still cannot get those damn rangers to take down the poisonous snake sign... They're venomous, heh heh.
Well, sorry to take up your time with a long note. Have a great day!

Well, venomous snakes have venom. They have fangs to deliver poison, vipers having hollow spring-loaded ones, elapids (only coral snake NA) have small grooved teeth. You catch them, in you dominate hand with head and other with Dixie (R) cup topped w/ ceran wrap. Make them bite it, and in the cup drips venom. collect enough and give to prof = anti-venom ingrediant.
